Data platforms for hospitality and resorts

A resort runs on data from more systems than most companies its size: reservations, loyalty, on-property spend, marketing, and finance. I led data architecture for a resort and entertainment company, building the lakehouse and the governance model behind its reporting.

What is different about hospitality data

A guest touches many systems in a single stay, and each one keeps its own version of who they are. Bookings arrive directly, through third parties, and on property, and each channel reports revenue its own way. Anyone who has sat through a Monday revenue meeting knows the result: several reports, several totals, and time spent reconciling them before anyone can talk about the business.

Where I help

  • A lakehouse with a clear shape. Separate raw, cleaned, and business-ready layers, so every report draws from the same governed tables.
  • Governance with named owners. Ownership, stewardship, and change control, run through a council that spans business units rather than living in a policy document.
  • Reporting that reconciles. Semantic models with row-level security over the governed tables, and omni-channel dashboards that show direct, third-party, and on-property together.
  • Ready for AI. A direction for how governed data, semantic models, and lineage will ground ML and AI analytics, so teams do not each build their own ungoverned path.
